Harry Baker is a world poetry slam champion, and maths graduate. He also accidentally got involved in the UK rap battle scene and is part of the world’s leading comedy-rap-jazz duo. At every step along the journey unexpected collaborations or unusual opportunities has enabled him to further his craft, and rather than his unfounded worries about becoming too niche have opened up his work to a wider audience each time, including a year spent in Germany resulting in a falafel-based tongue twister that he once shared with some 5-year-olds in Oman. A light-hearted lyrical presentation on the joy of being open to new things, and how the more we know ourselves, the better we can help others.
Harry will be talking about how the crossover of maths and poetry has enabled him to have a deeper understanding of both, as well as sharing some pieces he’s written along the way.
